...So much for the “I only paint beautiful women” moniker.
The subject of my painting, my grandpa, is definitely not a beautiful woman, but it's an important painting to me, nonetheless. He was a pilot in WWII flying
"The Hump" route in Asia. After the war, he flew until his stroke in 1972. Despite not being able to fly, his pilot spirit never left him. This painting, based on the only photo (a Polaroid) that I took of him in 1982, hopefully captures a little bit of his pilot soul.
